Walnut burl has unique and beautiful character with rich brown and orange colors that intermingle creating in irregular patterns making each chess board a unique creation. The high gloss polyurethane gives the chess board a glass-like finish that enhances the colors and dept of the irregular burl wood patterns. The whitened bird's-eye maple used for the white squares creates a wonderful contrast next to the much darker walnut burl. A black delimiter defines the playing area from the extra wide frame gives this elegant chess board visual balance.This is a very large chess board with 60 mm (2.375") squares and measures 23.5" overall. Chess sets with a king height of 4" to 5" and with a base diameter up to 2" will fit and look proportional on this chess board.
